Moore County High School’s art program will cease to exist next year.
According to Director of Schools Chad Moorehead, a health science program that will allow students to graduate high school as a certified nurse’s assistant is replacing the art program.
“It is not so much that we are getting rid of art, as adding a program that can provide a great career opportunity right out of high school. We will be partnering with the Lynchburg Nursing Center for training our students during the school day,” says Director Moorehead.
The current MCHS art teacher, David Schroder, is retiring at the end of the school year.
