Larry Brown, a 1985 graduate of Moore County High School, was recently named the K-12 Principal of the Year for the Middle Grand Division of Tennessee. He is the principal of J.E. Woody Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant.
After graduating from MCHS, Brown went on to earn Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. He has worked for the Maury County School System since 1990 as a teacher, basketball coach, athletic director, and assistant principal at Santa Fe Unit School before his current job as principal of J.E. Woody Elementary.
Brown received the K-12 Principal of the Year award for the South Central Region last spring, qualifying him for the statewide award. He was chosen out of nine finalists for the Middle Grand Division award, which recognizes principals in middle Tennessee.
