MCHS golf season in full swing

GLF moore county 002LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — The Moore County High School golf team has a handful of outings under its belt and was slated to hit the links again Thursday as the Raiders and Raiderettes are to host Middle Tennessee Christian School at The Bear Trace at Tims Ford State Park.

MCHS is scheduled to play at The Bear Trace on Tuesday, Aug. 11 against Fayetteville City. Both the boys and girls teams will be back in action on Tuesday, Aug. 18 against Cascade.

On Sept. 1 Moore County travels to Eagleville and on Sept. 3 they’ll play in Cornersville at the rec center.

A match against Fayetteville City at Pebble Creek — formerly the Fayetteville Country Club — is set for Sept. 8 and the Raiders and Raiderettes will close out the regular season on Sept. 15 at Middle Tennessee Christian School.

This year the Raiderettes are led by senior Emily Powell. Powell is one of three seniors on the team, joining Lyndsey Eslick and Savannah Stevens. The lone junior on the squad is Breanna Woosley.

On the boys side, the team includes seniors Montana Driver and Jay Layman, along with juniors Sam O’Neal, Tanner Womble, Dillon Taylor and Austin Waters.

Josh Deal is the head coach.
