Mckinna Lyndlee Ward of Lynchburg, TN, was recently crowned Miss Tennessee Junior High United States 2021 and is competing at the National United States Scholarship Pageant July 19-23 in Hershey, PA, for the national title of Miss Junior High United States 2021.
Ward attends Moore County High School where she is a member of the student council and is a varsity cheerleader. She enjoys competitive cheerleading, volunteering in her community, and promoting her charity Mckinna’s Miracles, which benefits children with disabilities and serious health issues and their families. Among her fundraisers, including her annual charity event the Miss Blue Miracle Pageant, Mckinna has raised over $10,000 in donations for various local and state nonprofit organizations, such as the Nashville RMHC, Community Care Ministries, Hospitality House, Moore County Friends of Animals, and the Good Samaritan.
The National United States Scholarship Pageant is a scholarship, community service, and platform-based pageant that showcases the achievements of today’s students and graduates, with an emphasis on developing communication skills, building self-confidence, leadership skills, community involvement, and making a difference. The National United States Pageant is comprised of four divisions: elementary, junior high, high school, and collegiate. Contestants compete in three areas of competition: interview (50 percent), fashion (20 percent), and evening gown (30 percent). There are also several additional and optional awards to be presented. Along with the awards and national titles, national contestants will participate in the pageant’s National Service Project of collecting aluminum soda tabs to be turned in at Nationals for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA in Hershey.
The four 2021 national winners will have a year of service promoting community service and their personal platform or cause they support, receive a cash scholarship, receive a generous prize package, and be given opportunities of a lifetime.
