The 12th annual Lynchburg Motorcycle Rally and Grass Track Motorcycle Races will be held Saturday in Lynchburg. Gates open at 7 a.m.
The rally will include vendors, stunt show, races, scheduled rides and a bike show with several classes. Admission to vendor display is free. Vendor set up opens at 3 p.m. on Friday. For more information call (931) 759-4848 or go online to <www.lynchburgchoppers.com>.
According to the Lynchburg Choppers’ Facebook page, this year’s Rally will “really showcase motorcycles,” like American V-twins, metric cruisers, sport bikes, adventure, touring, trikes, dirt bikes, flat trackers, vintage and racing, so it should be a good mix of all things motorcycle.
This is homegrown racing at its best.
Expected participants include Michael Lewis of Violent Choppers; AMA Pro flat track racer and two time champion William Cato; Former AMA Pro flat tracker Chris Boone; former Trials Champion and AMA amateur national triple crown champ Curt Comer; WERA Champ James a.k.a. ‘Spud’ Stroud; AHRMA champ/Team Rokon Racing rider Henry Sansing; and All Pro Powersports and Alabama Dirt Track Champion Sam Brown just to name a few.
The Rally starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Race sign up is at 3 p.m.; practice at 5 p.m.; and races to follow.
Live music performed by southern and classic rock band “Double Image” will begin at 2 p.m.
The Tennessee Valley Flat Trackers (TVFT) will be on hand this year with various flat track bikes, kids, vintage, and modern flat track bikes. TVFT will be handing out race schedules and answering questions about Motorcycle Flat Track Racing.
The Christian Motorcycle Association will be here again this year as well.
