The Lynchburg Junior Pro youth basketball league is hosting a golf tournament to raise money for the league. The first-ever Lynchburg Junior Pro Golf Tournament is a four-person scramble and will be held at The Bear Trace at Tims Ford State Park on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The tournament entry fee is $250 per team, or $62.50 per player, with a maximum of 36 teams. The tournament will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Awards will be given in a number of categories, including closest to the pin on five specified holes; straightest drive; and putting contests for 16 years old and under and 17 years old and up. This will be a hole-in-one contest on a designated hole, with the winner vying for a new car sponsored by Russell Barnett/Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep.
In addition, each player on the first-place team will receive $100; second-place team $62.50; and third-place team $35. Door prizes will also be given out.
