Mrs. Lydia Jane Moorehead Fanning age 85 of Lynchburg passed away on June 30, 2012 at her residence after a short illness. Born on May 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Tillman and Rose Reed Moorehead. Mrs. Fanning worked for Craftmore Glove Factory and retired from Delong Sportswear. She was a homemaker and a member of the Booneville Church of Christ. Mrs. Fanning is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wilburn Fanning of Lynchburg. Daughters, Linda Harper and her husband Wayne of Lynchburg and Janice Smith of Murfreesboro. Sons; Jerry Fanning and his wife Cindy of Lynchburg and Stanley Fanning and his wife Terry Sue also of Lynchburg. 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother Edwin Moorehead of Adrian, MI. and sister Thelma Word of Estill Springs and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fanning was preceded in death by her son-in-law Kenneth Smith. Sisters; Dorothy Ashby, Christine Fanning, Nelle Hensley and Sarah Parks and brother Marvin Moorehead. Funeral services were held on Tuesday July 3, 2012 at the Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Weddington and Bro. Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Cemetery.
