Around Thanksgiving, The Moore County News asked Lynchburg Elementary School students Kindergarten through sixth grade to tell us, "What are you Thankful for?"  A winner was chosen from each grade level, and we dropped off prize packs to our seven ‘Why I’m Thankful’ contest winners at Lynchburg Elementary School after Christmas break!  The prize packs included a gift card and homemade chocolate dipped s’more from Velma’s Candy and a kid’s meal voucher for Barrelhouse BBQ, along with candy and a barrel of slime (sorry parents!!).  The kids were all appreciative for their prizes, it was so sweet to see their excitement and their gratitude.  A big thank-you goes out to Velma’s Candy and Barrelhouse BBQ for sponsoring the prize packs and to the teachers and administration at Lynchburg Elementary for allowing the contest, especially Principal Mrs. Lindsey for assisting me and accompanying me to the winners’ classrooms!
