Leslie Ewing Hartley, age 87 of Tullahoma, passed away April 8 at the Lynchburg Care Center. He was born November 11, 1924 in Thompson’s Station, Tenn., the son of the late Lesley Ewing and Frances Rebecca (Vaughn) Hartley. He worked as a farmer. Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Mae (Ferrell) Hartley; daughter, Rebecca Faye Hartley; son, Robert Phillip Hartley; sisters, Mary Beard, Classie Lee Margrum, Dovie Lynch and an infant sister. Surviving are son, Howard (Patsy) Hartley of Fairview; daughters, Virginia (Harry) Burton of Mulberry and Daisy (Ernest) Glascoe of Tullahoma; brothers, Johnny (Frances) Hartley of Franklin and Jimmy Hartley of Woodbury; sisters, Eva (Ronnie) Leathers of Rockvale, Janie (Herbert) Manier of Columbia, Lena (Joe) Jakes of Murfreesboro and Lucy Shedd of Nashville, as well as seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on April 10 at Jennings Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Bro. Ronnie Leathers officiating. Interment followed in Hurricane Cemetery in Tullahoma.
