LES students raise money to shave Principal’s head

Posted on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:13 am

Students at Lynchburg Elementary School (LES) are busy signing sponsors for this year’s Romp-a-thon – a walk-a-thon that takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 3.

And with good reason, LES Principal Thomas Fuhrman and LES Computer Lab Teacher Jonah Deal have promised they’ll shave their heads if kids raise $30,000 for the school.

If you’d like to sponsor a student, you probably won’t need to look any further than your own back yard but those who need help locating one can call the school at 759-7388.

The LES PTO sponsors the event and 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the school.

If students raise the money, (and Mr. Fuhrman and Coach Deal) will let us, The News will publish a photo of their newly-bald heads on the front page of our Oct. 11 issue. •
