LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Whether it’s her soaring vocals or genuine songwriting style, Laura McCormick has proved she has the fierce set of pipes necessary to compete in today’s country scene. The former ICU nurse spent last year honing her songwriting craft and gracing stages around the south with her fearless personality after the successful release of her 2014 debut album Box Full of Trouble.
McCormick is a Tullahoma native who earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University.
On Saturday evening she will be in Lynchburg, performing on Jack Daniel’s BBQ Hill as part of the annual “Healing on the Hill” presented by Partners for Healing.
Partners for Healing is a free clinic for the working uninsured in Coffee, Franklin and Moore counties. Tickets for this annual fundraiser can be purchased at <http://www.partnersforhealing.org/events>. Tickets purchased after Aug. 1 are $65 each. Tickets may also be purchased in person from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Partners’ clinic located at 109 West Blackwell St. in Tullahoma.
Dinner is included with the ticket and event T-shirts may be purchased at the event on Saturday evening. Buses will begin leaving the Jack Daniel’s Visitor’s Center at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
McCormick has recently released her sophomore project, Too Wild to Tame, which features the uplifting single “Just Around the Corner.”
