Friday night the Lady Bucks traveled to Harriman, where they dropped an 83-58 decision to Roane State. On Saturday the destination was Morristown, home of the nation’s fourth-ranked Walters State Lady Senators, where the Lady Bucks were on the short end of a 94-48 decision.
Motlow trailed Roane State 43-33 at halftime as both teams struggled shooting the basketball. The Lady Bucks shot 36 percent from the field and hit only 2-of-12 three-point opportunities and 16-of-30 free throw chances. Roane State out-rebounded Motlow 54-36 and forced the Lady Bucks into 22 turnovers.
Sabrina Jackson led Motlow in scoring with 10 points and pulled down five rebounds with two blocked shots. Kaley Rogers scored nine with four rebounds and two assists, Chelsea Holman added seven points, Lacy Gaines six and Briana McDonald, Jadah Fite and Erin Thomas each scored five. Bree Horner led Motlow with six rebounds.
The Lady Bucks were outscored 47-24 in both halves against undefeated Walters State on Saturday. Fite led Motlow with 14 points and added five rebounds. Chloe Neil and Holman each hit two three-pointers and scored eight points, with Jackson adding six points and three rebounds.
Motlow’s next home game will be Friday, Jan. 17 when Dyersburg State visits Copperweld Arena for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
