John Parks Spencer, age 91 of Tullahoma, passed away Friday, March 23 at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was a press operator at Uniroyal Chemical Co. and a US Army veteran of WWII. He loved gardening and taking long walks. Preceding him in death were his parents, William Mitchell Spencer and Ruth Adeline Parks Spencer; wife, Aurelia Jane Cunningham Spencer; son, John Gary Spencer; daughter, Pamela Jane Spencer; brothers, Douglas Clark Spencer and Robert Eugene Spencer; and wife, Christine Godwin Spencer. Survivors include his son, John C. Spencer of Tullahoma; daughter, Patricia Ross of Lake Wales, Fla.; daughter-in-law, April Spencer of Tullahoma; brothers, Clarence Ray (Robbie) of Minnesota; Virgil W. Spencer of Taft; Ronald C. (Polly) Spencer of Mulberry; sisters, Louise (Jess) Webster of Boones Mill, Va. and Elizabeth (Johnnie) Raby of Lynchburg; and grandson, John Mitchell Spencer. Funeral services were held March 25 at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment followed in Lois Cemetery. Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
