Metro Moore County Sheriff’s investigators, along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, are still investigating the shooting death of a Moore County youth.
According to Moore County investigator Mike Rainey, Zachary Scott Ulmer, 19, of 362 Grammer Hill Rd., Lynchburg was shot Thursday, April 3 around 8 p.m. Ulmer was riding in a vehicle with Ian Moscato, 18, when a weapon was discharged, killing Ulmer.
Apparently, the two had been at Ulmer’s grandparent’s house and were driving back to Ulmer’s residence when the incident occurred.
“Right now, myself, along with the TBI, are still investigating the (incident),” said Rainey. “It’s still an ongoing investigation. We’re waiting on the TBI for the autopsy report and we’re waiting on the TBI for ballistics reports.”
On Wednesday, Rainey said investigators are still determining ownership of the weapon and no charges have been filed at this time.
