Posted on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 12:00 pm

The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center presents an exhibition of works by husband and wife team, Michael W. and Madonna Bush, Aug. 10-29 in the Regional Art Museum at 401 South Jackson Street. Viewing hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There will be an artist reception on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6-8 p.m., at which drinks and refreshments will be served. This is an informal event to which members and Non-members are invited. Donations and new members will be accepted, and the artists will be available to sign their works, which will be available for purchase.

“My content as a painter/printmaker, is rooted in cultural and personal issues,” said Michael Bush. “It is at times politically motivated, yet in other instances most spiritual and very personal. Most often I make use of personal symbols or metaphors with the express intent of confronting or challenging, the viewers personal point of view. To either validate or challenge visual ad intellectual understanding. It is my desire to develop a dialogue both visual and intellectual between the viewer and the work itself.”

His Wife’s jewelry work is described as ranging from “romantic, to playful, to exotic.”

She often uses combinations of sterling silver, copper and brass on the same piece to add definition to the composition. In addition to semi-precious stones and pearls, she loves to incorporate artistic Czech glass beads, Swarovski crystals and ceramic floral elements. Her work has a sophisticated, global feel, utilizing various techniques, including metalsmithing, cold connection, wirework, enameling and beading.

Call the Center at (931) 455-1234 with any questions or to schedule special party, class or group viewing arrangements.
