Holcomb, Logan pace MCHS distance runners at Henry Horton

CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. — The Moore County High School cross country team competed in its second meet of the season last Thursday as they ran in a multi-team race at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill.

Taylor Holcomb and Kinsley Logan each medaled for Moore County. Holcomb finished 11th at the 24 minute, 23 second mark, while Logan was 12th at 24:24.

Other distance runners competing for the Raiderettes included Jaycey Burton who finished the hilly course at 28:02, Kellie Ray who finished at 28:18 and Kynleigh Fanning who crossed the stripe at 28:59. The top five runners make up the team score, however, the team score was not available at press time.

Finishing up the varsity for MCHS were Hailee Trott (29:10) and Delaney Stevens (29:37).

In the Junior Varsity race, Moore County’s Mika Rainey was second overall with a finishing time of 29:39. Delaney Hart (32:33) was fifth and Amberlyn Holman (33:37) was eighth. Rounding out the JV runners were Faith Cauble (36:07), Anna Lea Smith (36:07), Haley Henshaw (37:43) and Chrissy Lockhart (37:44).
