The Moore County Health Department (MCHD) now offers free flu vaccinations for adults 19 years and older at the Metro Moore Health Facility located at 251 Majors Blvd.
The MCHD will also offer flu vaccinations for children 18 and younger for a fee of $13.70. Fees may be reduced based on family size and income and they also accept TennCare.
Common flu spreads through coughing, sneezing and human contact. Symptoms include fever, chills, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, headache and a runny nose.
Each year, thousands die from the disease and young children, people over age 65, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions such as heart disease are especially at risk.
The free, walk-in clinic takes place Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. while supplies last.
