Friday the 13th brings cold weather

Posted on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 9:51 am

It frighteningly cold outside.

Frigid Arctic air pressing down from the North, brought cold temperatures to Lynchburg on Friday.

Local schools closed due to the possibility of black ice on Moore County’s back roads. Snow fell overnight and continued into the day but with little accumulation. As a precaution, school officials cancelled MCHS’s away game against Forrest in Marshall County.

Daytime temps are forecasted to remain below freezing on Friday while dipping to 21 degrees overnight. By Saturday at noon, temps should be back up to the high forties and 52 degrees by Sunday.
