Hazelwood, Frances Farris, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Lincoln Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 5, 1921 to the late George and Lilly Mae Fanning Farris. She was retired from Delong Sportswear. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Hazelwood and two sisters, Mae Jeans and Flora Thompson. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Barbara Green of Flat Creek, Richard and William McAbee of Lynchburg, Bettye McAbee (Justin) Bradford of LaVergne, Judy (Roy) Jones, Nancy Thompson and Mary Ann (Jim) Andrews, all of Fayetteville; Catherine (Buddy) Frogge; Bettye Jane Weir; Bobby (Jane) Jeans; and Joe Jeans; and was blessed by several great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. A.J. Alderman officiating. Interment followed at Lynchburg Cemetery. Matt Bradford, David Tucker, John Qwalls, Todd Qwalls, Jared Qwalls and Jamie Crocker served as pallbearers. Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
