This is the final week to purchase shamrocks at the school.
The project at LES has currently raised more than $2,200 dollars and the school is in a close competition with HEAD Middle Magnet School out of Nashville to be the top shamrock seller in the state of Tennessee.
“We are so close to the end and don’t want to give up the lead. The last day to purchase a shamrock is March 28,” said Jonah Deal, an assistant in the LES computer lab.
Green shamrocks cost $1 and Gold shamrocks cost $5. These shamrocks are hung throughout the school. If anyone would like to purchase one, they can buy one from any LES student or come up to the office.
All of the proceeds from the clovers will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The LES students have long met their first goal of raising $800, which is how much it costs to send one child with Muscular Dystrophy to camp. Also, the top selling class at LES will receive a pizza party, so the students are battling among themselves as well.
