Tullahoma, TN – The Alzheimer’s Association Mid South Chapter, along with the South Central Area Agency on Aging and Disability, Life Care Center of Tullahoma, and Lynchburg Nursing Home, will host its 19th Annual Caregiver Conference on Thursday, May 15th 2014 from 8:30-2:30 at Motlow State Community College’s Marcum Technology Building. The theme is Covering all the bases of Alzheimer’s Dementia: Caring for those who cared for us.
“Alzheimer’s is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States; Tennessee is ranked fifth in cases nationwide. This Caregiver Conference provides both caregivers and health professionals with the opportunity to visit relevant exhibitors, learn from professionals, and enjoy time with other caregivers,” says Teka Moten, Manager of Programs and Education.
Dr. Paul Newhouse of Vanderbilt Center of Cognitive Medicine will keynote- discussing the Behaviors associated with the disease. Other presentations include Support and Management tips for caregivers; elder law guidelines & a research panel on the latest developments and clinical trial opportunities.
