Energy assistance available for low income households

South Central Human Resource Agency is now accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in Moore County.

This program helps low income households through direct energy payments to their energy provider. Households with total income below 150 percent of the federal income guidelines may be assisted. Proof of the total household income for the past eight weeks is required to determine eligibility. The Social Security card for each household member must be provided along with a current energy bill.

Persons interested in applying for this program should make an appointment Monday, Wednesday or Friday at the South Central Human Resource Agency office located at 251 Majors Boulevard. For more information, call 759-7827.
