The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has scheduled a four-hour power outage for all Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) members served out of the Lynchburg Substation beginning at midnight this Saturday (Sept. 21) until approximately 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
This outage is necessary for TVA and DREMC to perform system maintenance.
“Duck River Electric appreciates the cooperation and understanding of its members during this outage as we strive to improve the reliability of the electric system,” said DREMC officials in a press release.
During Monday’s Metro Moore County Council meeting, Moore County EMA Director Jason Deal told county officials that the electrical outage could actually last from four to eight hours, depending on the progress of the maintenance.
The electrical outage will affect areas Hwy. 55 north to Motlow College including Hwy. 82, Cobb Hollow, Ridgeville/Tullahoma Rd., and the Ledford Mill Area, south to Lincoln County line, west on Hwy. 129 to Booneville and Charity Community, Winchester Hwy. to Little Bean Hollow Rd. and south to Edde Bend Rd., east to Tanyard Hill Rd., Lost Creek, Chestnut Ridge, Turkey Creek Rd. and Brownington Community.
In the event of inclement weather, this outage will be rescheduled for Sept. 28 at midnight.
