WHEEL, Tenn. — Scrapping the rest of its June schedule, Duck River Raceway Park will be dark through the Fourth of July weekend as track owner Bob Harris considers changes at the Wheel, Tenn., oval, Harris announced Monday.
According to a track release, the re-evaluation of operations and events “will allow time to focus on the things that need improving and addressing to give racers, fans and employees the best that they deserve” from the track and owner.
The Independence Day Run scheduled for July 4 features a $4,000-to-win Super Late Model event, along with the track’s regular divisions that includes Limited Late Models and Crate Late Models.
At Duck River’s June 6 event, Donald Johns of Summertown, topped an eight-car Super Late Model field, while Matt Odeneal outran 11 cars in the Limited feature and Daniel Miller won an eight-car Crate feature.
