Norman, Clara Opal, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Lynchburg Care Center in Lynchburg. She was born Oct. 9, 1918 in Moore County, the daughter of the late Frank and Mamie (Spencer) Parks. She was employed by the Jack Daniel Distillery. Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her husband Lawson Norman. Surviving are son, Parks (Debra) Norman of Lynchburg; daughters, Kathy (Stanley) Baker, of Winchester, and Joan (Les) Reardon of Chattanooga; brother, Claude Parks; sisters, Juanita Tipps of Lynchburg, Faye Carroll, of Winchester, and Emma Parks of Chattanooga; grandchildren Michele Jenson, Ryan Norman, Rachel Norman, Danny Reardon, Brigit Reardon, Jenny Merchant, Holby Sells and Mike Reardon; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Jennings Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment followed in the Lynchburg Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday, July 1 at the Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
