The Moore County Public Library (MCPL) has several activities planned for families during the month of March.
—Come join us at the library on Tuesday, March 5 to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day. Games, fun and refreshments are planned for all ages. The fun begins at 3:30 p.m.
*** March 13 and 27: Little Bookworms
—The Little Bookworms pre-school reading program will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of March (13 and 27). The program begins at 10 a.m. All children, from newborn to 5 years old who are not enrolled in school are welcome to attend. Stories, crafts and refreshments will be available. Come and join Miss Betsy for reading fun.
*** March 19: Family Game Night
—MCPL will be hosting a family game night on Tuesday, March 19. Games begin at 4 p.m. Among the fun, there will a checkers tournament and a “War” marathon. Refreshments will be served. Mark your calendars and bring the family for some wholesome family fun.
*** Ongoing services:
—Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The library is still hosting the free VITA program for citizens needing income tax assistance. Appointments are available on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. If you prefer to do your own taxes, IRS forms are available.
—Kill-A-Watt Program from DREMC
Visit the library and check out one of DREMC’s Kill-A-Watt meters. These meters allow you to see where your energy usage is adding up. Easy step-by-step instructions are included. There is no cost involved.
