Boys & Girls Clubs host Steak and Chicken Predators Night

Posted on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:12 pm

Young people need our help. Too many children and teens are not receiving the guidance they need to graduate from high school, avoid the effects of violence, gangs and drugs or to become responsible adults. The statistics on high school dropout rates, obesity and violence among youth are staggering.

Each of us can play a vital role in helping young people overcome these obstacles and achieve their dreams no matter what their circumstance. At Boys & Girls Clubs, we believe every child has the potential to be great.

This year’s annual fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County is the Steak & Chicken, to be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Blue Ribbon Circle Club. Each year, guests purchase tickets to attend the event and eat chicken for dinner so that the club members can eat steak. It’s a night where the club members come first and the kids are proud to showcase their love for their local club.

Calsonic Kansei is the presenting sponsor of this Third Annual Steak & Chicken Predators Night. More details regarding which Predator players, coaches and staff will be in attendance will be forthcoming from the organization, but the Predators have promised a night of celebration.

The Celebration, Inc. has donated the use of the Blue Ribbon Circle Club. Tyson has donated the chicken and Legends has graciously agreed to prepare all the food. All items are donated so that 100% of the proceeds of the event can go to help the kids of Bedford County.

David and Mary Howard are diamond sponsors of the event for the third year in a row. Walmart Distribution, Shelbyville Housing Development Corporation, and First Community Bank are also returning as platinum sponsors.

Club members will be participating in the event as well as in the VIP reception for Diamond, Platinum and Gold Sponsors at the Boys & Girls Club on Madison Street at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by contacting (931) 735-6525 or by email at
