Basketball hands out end-of-season awards

The Moore County Hoops Club held its annual end of season banquet on March 17 at the Lynchburg Elementary School cafeteria. Members of the Moore County High school girls and boys teams were recognized with special awards.

Garrett Jennings gets a hug from boys coach Heath Hardin. Jennings, the team’s only senior, was MVP and also took the Raider Award.

For coach Herb Horton’s girls team, award winners were:

Appreciation Awards: Jacey Burton, Juley Burton, Madison Harrison.

Coaches Award: Erica Clifton.

Most Improved Player Award: Chloe Brazier.

Most Versatile Player Award: Anna Smith.

Most Hustle Award: Regan Corder.

Best Defensive Player Award: Hailee Trott and Carolyna Driver.

Best Offensive Player Award: Kynleigh Fanning.

Player of the Year Award: Olivia Richards.

Raiderette Award: Kelli Ray.

Best Free-Throw Percentage Award: Brayden Cashion.

Most Charges Award: Garrett Jennings.

Most Rebounds Award: Garrett Jennings.

Best Defense Award: Dylan Scruggs.

Best Offense Award: Andrew Copeland.

Most Valuable Player: Garrett Jennings.

Raider Award: Garrett Jennings.
