Holt, Barbara Roberts, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at her residence. A native of Loudon County she was a daughter of the late John B. Roberts and Lona Mae Duckett Roberts. She was retired from Jack Daniels and attended Hilltop Church of The Nazarene. She loved flower gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and operated a day care for several years in the Lynchburg area. She was a fantastic lady. Mrs. Holt is survived by her husband J.T. Holt of Shelbyville; sons Robert Holt and his wife Becky of Lynchburg, Tim Holt of Madisonville, Tenn., John Holt and his wife Jolynn of Lynchburg; daughter Melissa Williams and her husband Alan of Madisonville, Tenn.; sisters Elizabeth Harrison of Madisonville, Tenn., Betty Long and her husband Hoyt of Maryville, Tenn., and Helen Reese of Shelbyville; special friends and caregivers, Katrina Taylor and Trent Gannon both of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Holt; brother Bill Roberts; and sisters Mildred Bruce and Mary Nell Young. The family received friends on Sept. 27 at Lynchburg Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at Lynchburg Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Bender officiating. Burial followed in the Bomar Cemetery in the Raus Community.
