Moore, Alva Eugene ‘Tex,’ 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center. Born in Houston, Texas, he was the son of the late James Lewis Berry and Blanche Marie Badder Berry. Mr. Moore was retired from the US Air Force. Preceding him in death were his daughter, Teresa Moore and brothers, Jim and Doug Berry. He is survived by his wife, Grace Moore of Lynchburg; children, Debra Yvonne (Terry) Trumbo of Georgia, Sheila Marie Moore of Decherd, Michael Joseph (Connie Lanell) Moore of Decherd, Shirley (John) Davis of Tullahoma, Larry (Charlotte) Carson, Dorinda (Eddie) Burton and Doug (Dean) Carson, all of Lynchburg; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday evening at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Ray Gardner officiating. Interment followed at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
