Chapel Hill, Tenn. – Several area agencies focused on the topics of disability and aging will partner to host the ninth annual Coalition Conference on Aging and Disability, on Tuesday, May 1 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
The conference begins with registration, exhibit booths, and refreshments at 8 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.
The conference fee is only $20, which includes the conference sessions and training materials, a full hot lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments, door prizes and exhibit booth giveaways.
This conference drew over 100 attendees last year, including law enforcement, health care and social workers, senior citizens, caregivers, legal professionals, and service providers of senior and disabled services.
The opening session will be with Vinny Hickerson, who was on a previous season of The Biggest Loser and is a singer songwriter that is a part of the country musical group Trailer Choir.
Clinical and Developmental Psychologist Dr. Suzanne Chabaud will also attend and speak. She appears in several episodes of A&E’s TV series, Hoarders.
The event is presented by the Adult Abuse Coalition of South Central Tennessee, in partnership with SCTDD/Area Agency on Aging & Disability, Adult Protective Services (APS), and Tennessee Vulnerable Adult Coalition (TVAC).
