Moore County Middle School is continuing its character education program. In this program, a different character trait is emphasized each month and a student is chosen by teachers, who represent that character trait each week. Then a student is chosen from those students as the Student of the Month. For the month of April, the trait has been ‘Honesty.’ MCMS is pleased to announce that the April Student of the Month is Katie Thomas.

Katie is the 13-year-old daughter of Clay and Sharon Thomas. She has one sister, Erin, who is a senior this year. Her mother is a teacher at LES. She loves to play basketball and hang out with friends. When she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian or a college basketball coach.

Katie is well-mannered, quiet and always has a smile. She is a good student who can be counted on to be trustworthy, honest and have integrity in what she does. She is a student who is a delight to have in class.

Thomas received a goodie bag with lots of items including coupons from Lynchburg Drug Store, Hardees, Arby’s, Sonic, Subway, Domino’s Pizza, Dairy Queen, Bowling, Krystal, Taco Bell, Woodard’s and Iron Kettle. She also received a free ice cream from the cafeteria, a free homework pass and a certificate of recognition. Look for her name on the sign in front of our school.
