After placing second in state this past season, falling just one game short of hoisting a state championship, three Moore County baseball players have been recognized by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association with all-state honors.
The Moore County seniors are Ryder Morey, Chris Martin and Kaden White. They were all selected as Class A recipients.
Ryder Morey, a middle infielder and pitcher, showed his talent on the field. Morey ended the 2021 season with 73 strikeouts and a .919 fielding percentage. Morey plans to continue his education and baseball career at Motlow State Community College.
Chris Martin was also chosen. Martin is a utility player for the Moore County Raiders. Martin ended this season with a total of seven homeruns. Martin has committed to continue his baseball career at Freed Hardeman University.
Kaden White, an outfielder for the Raiders, was also chosen. White ended his season with 53 hits and a .438 batting average. White also had a .972 fielding percentage.
The Moore County trio made up one fourth of the entire all-state team. Only Summertown equaled the number of players (3) voted for all-state honors by the sports writers. South Pittsburgh fielded two honorees in the 1A group including Ryan Cagle and Reece Genter.
