The MCHS softball team took a pair of district wins last week, knocking off Eagleville and Huntland.
The Raiderettes beat Eagleville 10-0, scoring seven runs in the third inning to put the game away. Molly Raby and Bailey Frazier ripped home runs and Kendall Dangerfield was 3-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in one. Harlee Denton was 2-for-3 and scored twice. Raby had two RBIs. Laney Cashion had a hit, scored a run and an RBI and Faith Weddington had a hit and scored. Abi Harvey pitched a five-inning one hit shutout, striking out eight. The Raiderettes made no errors afield.
MCHS beat Huntland 7-1 Harvey pitched seven innings to get the win, allowing five hits and one unearned run. She struck out none and walked none. The Raiderettes pieced together six hits with 13 walks to score their seven runs. The Raiderettes were rained out over the weekend and now play non-district away games at Grundy County and Franklin County. A tentative game is set at Columbia on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s Ravenwood Classic. The Raiderettes will return home April 17 for a big district game with Cascade at 5:30 that afternoon.
