Annual Tour of Homes is Saturday

The Moore County Historical and Genealogical Society will host its 2017 Tour of Homes Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. With proceeds benefiting the Old Jail Museum in downtown Lynchburg, this year’s tour will feature four properties, including the Hospitality House at 67 Majors Blvd., Tommy and Joyce’s house at 1328 Main Street, and Mulberry Lavender Farm and Bed and Breakfast at 9 Back Street in Mulberry, and the home of Jeff and Joely at 3173 GrifÞ n Road. In conjunction with the event, Miss Mary Bobo’s at 295 Main Street, Lynch-burg, will host a Holiday Open House from 2-5 p.m. Tickets are $17 each and available at the Old Jail Museum. The price also includes a free tour of the museum either the day of the Home Tour or tickets may be presented at a later date. Tour of Homes 2017 Directions from the red light In Lynchburg 1. Home of Jeff and Joely-3173 Griffin Rd.- Turn right at the red light. Travel 1.2 miles and turn right on Goodbranch Road. Continue straight for 3 miles and take the curve to the left. Home is .1 mile on the left. 2. Hospitality House – 67 Majors Blvd.-Leave Home of Jeff and Joely and turn right and return to Highway 55. Turn left toward town and go 1.2 miles. The Hospitality House is on the right. There is a sharp right into the driveway and parking is in the rear. 3. Home of Tommy and Joyce Anderson-1328 Main St.- Leave Hospitality House and turn right, go .3 miles, turn left onto Elm Street. Tommy and Joyce’s house is 1.2 miles on the right at the intersection of Highway 50 and Main Street. 4. Mulberry Lavender Farm and B&B – 9 Back St, Mulberry-Leave Anderson house and turn right out of the drive. Continue .4 miles and turn left onto Hwy. 55 toward Fayetteville. Travel 6.1 miles and turn left onto Mulberry Rd. Travel .2 miles and turn right onto Mulberry square. Go straight for .1 mile and turn left onto Mulberry Cutoff. At the end of road at stop sign turn right on Back Street and the Lavender Farm sign is on the left. Turn left at sign and continue through the gate at the welcome sign. This will be a gravel/dirt road. House is about .5 miles further.
