Community chips in for baseball field project

I find it comforting to live in a community that has so much civic pride. I recently embarked on a project to upgrade the middle school baseball field in the new park complex by providing a sod infield that would allow us to compete with other division schools. I wanted to let Coach (Darren) James know that the community would back him with a field he could be proud of.

    The Moore County fce Council has announced its fourth annual Citizenship Award, which will be presented during the Frontier Days celebration here in Lynchburg on Saturday, June 22.  The public is encouraged to submit nominations for the 2013 award.     The United Way of the Highland Rim has changed its name to United Way of Coffee and Moore Counties in order for people to better understand that it is the local United Way currently supporting 14 non-profits.
