More than 135 participants showed up for the Moore County Mud Run last Saturday, May 13. The run was a fundraiser for the MCHS girls’ varsity basketball team to help pay expenses during the 2017-18 school year/basketball seasons. Parents of the MCHS girls’ varsity basketball team hosted The Mud Run. The race route included approximately 18-20 obstacles along the 3.1 Mile course, most of which contain water and mud. Although none of the obstacles were impossible, they certainly required the runners to be fit and strong. The obstacles included names like The Gates, Hay Bales, Slip and Slide, The Ladder and The Cliff . The slip and slide was probably the crowd favorite. The route crossed Mulberry creek several times to ensure everybody got wet. The event raised enough funds to put on the Varsity Basketball Christmas Tournament.
